The U.S. Consulate General in Erbil announced on Wednesday that they had donated advanced medical first responder equipment to the Zeravani Peshmerga Forces, which are officially part of the Ministry of Interior.
“These tools strengthen emergency response efforts, boost lifesaving capacity, and demonstrate American excellence and innovation in engineering and medicine,” the U.S. Consulate General said.
A renewed non-binding memorandum of understanding signed by the U.S. Department of Defense and the Ministry of Peshmerga Affairs (MoPA) in 2022 committed to providing support to the Peshmerga.
The United States says its goal is to build a professional and capable force to ensure the enduring defeat of ISIS.In August, the United States also provided several lightweight 105-mm howitzers to the First and Second Support Forces Command of the MoPA.

Furthermore, the MoPA on Tuesday announced that the English-language course at the Technology and Languages Department of the MoPA’s Reform Directorate had concluded. The announcement was made in the presence of a representative of the U.S. Consulate General in Erbil and the Dutch military advisor in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
