On Tuesday, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani received a phone call from France’s President Emmanuel Macron and discussed the recent developments in the Middle East.

This comes amid the fourth day of fighting between Iran, the United States, and Israel.

According to a readout from the Kurdistan Region Presidency, the two leaders discussed the latest developments in the region, voicing concerns over escalating tensions and stressing the importance of preserving peace and stability.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

They also highlighted the importance of enhancing international efforts to de-escalate the situation and to address the issues through peaceful and diplomatic avenues.

Furthermore, Barzani received a phone call from Turkey’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan on recent developments across the region.

According to the readout from Barzani’s office, both officials underscored the critical importance of joint efforts to preserve regional peace and stability.

The talks also covered Turkey’s ties with Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, as well as a range of other mutually relevant issues.
