On Wednesday, Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani spoke via telephone with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nahyan and Turkey’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Hakan Fidan.
"With my brother HH Sheikh @ABZayed, we discussed the situation in the region, particularly in the UAE, Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, and developments in recent days in the conflict. We both expressed concern over the attacks and escalations," Prime Minister Barzani posted about the meeting on X.
“We also stressed the importance of strengthening bilateral cooperation and coordination to reduce threats and tensions and maintain peace, security and stability in the region,” he added.
Since the beginning of the conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran on Saturday, there has been an increase in drone and missile attacks on the Kurdistan Region.Prime Minister Barzani also spoke with Minister Fidan and discussed the situation in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, as well as the broader regional developments and conflict.
They agreed on the importance of preserving peace, stability, and security in the region.

“Tension, war, and instability are affecting the region,” Prime Minister Barzani said during an event on Tuesday. “It is unfortunate that our region has once again been struck by such hardship. Even more troubling is that in recent days, certain outlawed terrorist elements have targeted Erbil.
“We call on the federal government not to allow these outlawed terrorists to continue attacking Kurdistan, because we cannot remain silent indefinitely.”
