In a phone call with UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al-Nahyan on Monday, Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani condemned the recent attacks on the UAE.
“I spoke by telephone with my brother HH Sheikh @ABZayed, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the UAE, about bilateral relations and developments in the region,” he posted about the phone call on X.
“We condemned the recent attacks on the UAE and emphasized the importance of maintaining peace, security, and stability in the region and ending these attacks.”
On Monday, the UAE Ministry of Defense announced that the UAE air defense systems had engaged 12 ballistic missiles, three cruise missiles, and four drones launched from Iran, resulting in three moderate injuries.
The UAE Ministry of Defense also affirmed that it remains fully prepared and ready to deal with any threats and will firmly confront anything that aims to undermine the security of the country.The Kurdistan Region enjoys a strong relationship with the UAE.

Last Thursday, Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani met with UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan in Abu Dhabi during an official visit to the country, where they discussed bilateral relations.
Following the outbreak of conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran on February 28, both the UAE and the Kurdistan Region were targeted by hundreds of drone and missile attacks. In the Kurdistan Region, 20 people were killed.
