In a phone call on Thursday, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani spoke with Belgium’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Jan Jambon and discussed bilateral relations between Belgium and the Kurdistan Region.

According to the KRG readout, Prime Minister Barzani expressed his appreciation for the support provided by Belgium and other European countries, particularly in confronting the threats posed by ISIS.

Moreover, Deputy Prime Minister Jambon reaffirmed his country’s support for the security and stability of the Kurdistan Region.

They also stressed the importance of preserving peace and stability across the region.

Prime Minister Barzani previously met with Jambon in 2021, when he was serving as the Minister-President of Flanders.
