In a statement on Thursday, the Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism Directorate (CTD) said that a civilian site in the Kurdistan Region had been targeted with two drones.
According to the CTD, at 12:55 pm on Thursday, a grain storage facility in the Qushtapa district of Erbil Governorate was attacked by two explosive-laden drones of the Hadid-110 type.
The CTD said the attack caused significant material damage to the facility, but no casualties or injuries were reported.
The CTD strongly condemned the attack, describing it as a terrorist act targeting a civilian site.
It is unclear if the attack was launched from Iran or by Iranian-backed proxies within Iraq.
Attacks have continued on the Kurdistan Region despite the U.S.-Iran ceasefire on April 8.
“While the ceasefire between the United States and Iran appears to be holding, drone and missile attacks on the Kurdistan Region continue. Drone strikes have been reported in several parts of Kurdistan tonight,” the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s Foreign Relations Department said in April.
However, the ceasefire has been looking increasingly fragile in recent days, with the United States carrying out attacks on targets in southern Iran.
Additionally, on Thursday U.S President Donald Trump announced that he would hit Iran very hard again tonight.
