On Monday, Dr. Mohammad Shukri‎, Chairman of the Kurdistan Region Board of Investment — accompanied by Guhdar Sheekhoo, Supervisor of the Independent Administration of Zakho, and a delegation of investors from the Kurdistan Region — participated in the Kurdistan Region Economic Forum held in the Region of Murcia, Spain.

During the forum, which was attended by the ministers of labor, trade, and social affairs of the region of Murcia, Dr. Shukri expressed his satisfaction with the organization of the event. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of such forums as a means of strengthening economic ties and promoting bilateral trade based on mutual benefit.

Later, Dr. Shukri‎ joined Luis Alberto Marín, the Minister of Economy and Trade of the Region of Murcia, in a panel discussion where he presented the Kurdistan Region’s investment opportunities, laws, and regulations for foreign investors. He also invited Spanish companies to invest in the Kurdistan Region, assuring them of the government’s support and assistance.

All parties agreed to hold a similar forum in Erbil in November this year, and decided to take the necessary steps in the coming months to prepare for the event.

The Kurdistan Region-Murcia Economic Forum was organized through coordination and cooperation between the Kurdistan Region Board of Investment and the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Representation in Spain.

During a visit to Madrid, Sheekhoo and the KRG delegation also visited the management of the football club Getafe CF.
