Coalition Forces Down Eight Explosive-Laden Drones Over Erbil

In a statement on Wednesday, the Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism Directorate (CTD) said that coalition forces had intercepted and destroyed eight explosive-laden drones over the skies of Erbil.

“The engagement occurred between 20:53 and 21:20 local time. Fortunately, there were no reported casualties resulting from the incident,” the CTD said.

So far, no armed group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

On July 13, the CTD announced that a refugee camp housing Iranian Kurdish refugees in the Darashakran subdistrict of Pirmam, Erbil, was targeted by three explosive-laden drones early in the morning.

The attack also did not result in any casualties.

The Kurdistan Region has faced multiple drone and missile attacks since the outbreak of conflict between the United States, Israel, and Iran, including during declared ceasefires.
