In a meeting on Monday, President Masoud Barzani told the Patriarch of the Chaldean Catholic Church Mar Paul III Nona that the culture of coexistence in Kurdistan is a source of pride.
During the meeting, the Patriarch expressed his appreciation to President Barzani for his continued efforts to protect and support the rights and demands of Christians and all ethnic and religious communities in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, his office said.
Moreover, he reportedly praised President Barzani’s role in strengthening fraternity, harmony, the culture of coexistence, and support for the region’s diverse communities.
During the meeting, President Barzani highlighted the shared sacrifices and common struggle of Kurdistan’s communities, stressing that all communities stand together as partners in both times of prosperity and hardship, reaffirming that Kurdistan will remain a land of coexistence, brotherhood, and harmony.
During a separate meeting on Monday with Patriarch Nona, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani also underlined the KRG’s commitment to protecting the rights of all components, including Christians.
