Two explosive-laden drones targeted the Kurdistan Region Prime Minister’s Office and the residence of the head of the Security and Intelligence Agency early Monday morning, according to an official statement.

No casualties were reported, according to the Kurdistan Counterterrorism Unit, which said the attacks, carried out by Hadid-110 drones, occurred at 00:28 in Pirmam.

“The perpetrators will be responsible for the implications,” the Counterterrorism Unit said in a statement.

Prime Minister Masrour Barzani condemned the attacks and called them “reckless and unacceptable.”

“This is a dangerous escalation and a direct threat to the security and stability of the Kurdistan Region,” he wrote in a statement on his official X account.

“These attacks will not deter us from carrying out our duties and protecting our citizens,” he added.

Since the beginning of the US-Israel war with Iran, the Kurdistan Region has been targeted nearly 1,000 times, with some civilian and military casualties confirmed by authorities.

The Kurdistan Region has repeatedly called for an end to attacks by Iran and its proxy militias in Iraq, reaffirming that Erbil remains neutral in this conflict and supports a peaceful resolution to ensure security and stability in the region.
