On Monday, Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Prime Minister Masrour Barzani said farewell to Liu Jun, China’s Consul General, and Maxim Rubin, Russia’s Consul General.

During the meeting, Consul General Liu thanked the people of Kurdistan for their hospitality and friendship, describing his experience as unforgettable and Kurdistan as his second home.

Moreover, he underlined the Consulate General’s activities in the Kurdistan Region, including efforts to strengthen relations between universities in China and the Kurdistan Region, promote the automobile industry of China, and work toward the construction of a new building for the Consulate General of China in Erbil.

Prime Minister Barzani emphasized the importance of further developing relations between the Kurdistan Region and China. He thanked the Consul General for his efforts and wished him success in his future work.

On the same day, Prime Minister Barzani also received Russia’s outgoing Consul General Rubin, who thanked the KRG for its support and coordination throughout his mission. 

He also praised the reforms of the KRG Ninth Cabinet across various sectors and congratulated Prime Minister Barzani on the unification of the Peshmerga forces.

Prime Minister Barzani thanked the Consul General for his efforts to further advance relations between the Kurdistan Region and Russia and wished him success in his future work.
