Kurdish mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Namo Fazil, nicknamed “the Grandson of Salahadin,” is set to return to the cage on December 4, facing Brazil’s Argemiro Delmandes at Tuff-N-Uff 159 in Las Vegas in the United States. This will be an important comeback fight following Fazil’s defeat by Kaik Brito via a third-round knockout (0:12) on August 18, 2026, at Dana White’s Contender Series Season 10, Week 2.
“I thank you all. Thank you very much for everything. Please forgive me for letting you down,” he told his fans after the match.
“December 4 marks the beginning of a new chapter. I’ve learned from every setback, and I’m coming back stronger, more focused, and more dangerous than ever,” Fazil told Kurdistan Chronicle. “The mission remains the same: put Kurdistan on the map and bring that UFC welterweight belt back to the motherland.”
Tuff-N-Uff is the second-longest-running MMA promotion in the United States and has developed thousands of fighters, including names such as Felicia Spencer, Tracy Cortez, and Khalil Rountree Jr.
In July, Visit Kurdistan introduced Fazil as its brand ambassador, as part of its “Our Time Is Now” campaign, to celebrate the growing success of Kurds on the international stage across sports and other fields.
Other brand ambassadors include German-Kurdish MMA fighter Cihad Akipa and WBC World Heavyweight Boxing Champion Agit Kabayel.
