On Wednesday, the UAE condemned Iranian attacks on the Kurdistan Region and several Gulf countries.

“The UAE has condemned in the strongest terms the hostile attacks by Iran targeting the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Kuwait, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, with missiles and drones,” the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.

Moreover, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that these hostile attacks constitute a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the brotherly nations and a threat to their security and stability.

The Ministry reiterated the UAE's full solidarity with Bahrain,  Kuwait, Jordan, Iraq, and the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and its support for all measures aimed at safeguarding their security and stability. 

According to the Kurdistan Region’s Counter-Terrorism Directorate, Coalition forces intercepted ten drones in the skies over Erbil early Wednesday morning.

The UAE has a strong relationship with the Kurdistan Region.

On Tuesday, Kurdistan Regional Government Prime Minister Masrour Barzani met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed al-Nahyan in Abu Dhabi, where they condemned recent attacks on the UAE and “stressed the need to maintain peace and stability.”
