On Tuesday, the Federation of Kurdish Diaspora Women organized a conference at the Oriental Culture Center in Moscow to commemorate the 38th anniversary of the genocidal Anfal campaign conducted by the Iraqi Ba’ath regime against the Kurdish people.

The event was attended by representatives of the Kurdistan Regional Government and the Iraqi Embassy in Russia, members of the Syrian Kurdish community, Russian and Kurdish experts, and a number of students and young people.

A statement from the Federation of Kurdish Diaspora Women was delivered online by Shirin Zaki, the federation’s president. This was followed by remarks from Sada Museyan, the federation’s representative in Russia. Experts and students then presented several academic papers on the Anfal campaign, as well as on various aspects of Kurdish culture.

As part of the conference, an exhibition was organized featuring the artwork of young artist Nourik Museyan. The paintings depicted the life and culture of the people of Kurdistan.
